26-34 Devonshire Drive was the first phase of our work on the Springbank school site, #26 was created by reinstating the schools nursery to its original shape by removing later extensions. We did debate adding a second floor as there was space to do this but we instead chose to keep it one floor. The building was well crafted architecturally so all we had to do was restore it to its original form. Numbers 28-34 were semi-detached new builds but we wanted them to fit in with the main school building and nursery.
We achieved this by matching the bricks and roof tiles with the original buildings. We had 8,000 bricks cut so that we could match the brick bond used on the school building. These properties provide one bedroom on the ground floor and 2 on the upper floor.
The properties are spacious, offering excellent value for money. Finished to a high specification, they have been thoughtfully designed. Features include eye level ovens, storage (including a separate laundry cupboard in many of the apartments), lift access to the 1st floor, level access shower trays and wide access doors.
