Founder of the business

Rob Bailey

Rob Bailey – Founder of the business with Nick Smith, from a financial background and a former accountant. Rob has been involved in property renovation and development for over 2 decades. He started specialising in Barn conversions & listed buildings in 2003, more recently the business has focused on new build properties. Rob principally manages the site acquisition, sales and manages the cash flow in addition to architectural plans and planning applications.

Rob has a Construction skills black card, holds a Senior construction site manager level 5 NVQ diploma and a level 7 NVQ in senior construction management. Rob is a member of the Chartered Institute of Building.

Rob has a young family and his hobbies include squash, motor racing and fast cars. He sits in the Liverpool supporters group on site.

Nicholas Smith
Founder of the business

Nicholas Smith

Nicholas Smith – Founder of the business with Rob Bailey as site manager Nick makes sure work is done properly. He manages the site, team materials and method of work. Nick will normally be found in the site office and walking round site with his fastidious eye for detail.

Nick holds a Construction skills black card and has a level 7 NVQ in senior construction management.

Nick’s hobbies are playing golf, shooting and fishing.

Robert Szmyt

Robert Szmyt

Robert Szmyt – Robert can turn his hand to anything and gets through heavy work at a very quick rate. Normally found doing plumbing and tiling, he likes to have do other “big” jobs on site like laying blocks, patios,  dry lining. He really can do everything, apart from possibly tidy up after himself as he goes along!

Robert has been with Rob, Nick and Daniel since we started back in 2005. Robert’s hobbies are spending time with his family, working and planning for his annual holiday in Spain.

Daniel Orzechowski

Daniel Orzechowski

Daniel Orzechowski – Again another detail man Daniel’s speciality is electrics though he really can turn his hand to everything on site which would put many builders to shame. His favourite task on site would most likely involve sitting on an excavator.

Daniel has been with Rob & Nick since we started in 2005 and has a young family.

Daniel has a gold CSCS card and NVQ Diploma in Construction Site Supervision.

David Wren

David Wren

David Wren – David is City and Guilds qualified to level 3,  he specialises in bricklaying working alongside Darren and the bricklaying Cartel getting the fabric of the building up.

David joined us back in 2013, he has 3 boy’s so he comes to work for a rest, supporting his beloved Arsenal he has a love hate relationship with his colleague Dean Morris

Joshua Birkett

Joshua Birkett

Joshua Birkett – Josh has again joined us in 2013 as an apprentice, having passed his NVQ he’s well on his way to being a time served bricklayer.

Josh has a very young family so Josh likes trying to get any bit of sleep he can.

Luke Timson

Luke Timson

Luke Timson – Luke is our Joiner taking care of roof structures, doors, skirting boards, architraves and staircases. Luke started with us  back in 2014.

Luke has a young family and is obviously a sucker for punishment given he supports Nottingham Forest.

Darren Statham

Darren Statham

Darren Statham – Darren is our site foreman. He has a great variety of skills from detailed bricklaying to plastering and is a real asset to the team and brings 20 years problem solving and experience with him. Darren holds a Level 3 NVQ in Bricklaying.

Darren joined us in early 2014 when we started on the Devonshire Drive project in Eastwood. Darren is  a family man and when not in work he enjoys playing golf whenever he can get chance, he is very competitive and always comes near the top when we have our sporting challenges. Darren supports Derby so the banter in the mess room is never in short supply.

Shea Fitchett

Shea moves the materials round on site with the Telehandler making sure people are supplied with what they need next and unloading lorries.

Shea joined us in 2015, his hobbies include striping and rebuilding cars (or more accurately making them noisier)

Adam Hartley

Adam is the Yorkshireman on site he joined us in February 2021. Coming from a financial background he acts as Rob’s assistant dealing with finances of the business and is the first port of call for our customers.

Outside of work Adam is kept busy by his young daughter meaning he is regularly found in the canteen with a cup of coffee.

Joe Williams

Joe started in April 2021 as a labourer and he is starting his brick laying apprenticeship in September 2021 at Chesterfield College.

Pawel Cyper

Pawel Cyper

Pawel Cyper – Pawel joined us in 2015. He spends his time installing electrical installations on the houses and working in the labouring team making sure site functions efficiently.

Pawel lives with Marcin so he gets to spend a lot of time on Grandfather duties.

Richard Beastall

Richard joined us in November 2020 as assistant to Nick Smith. He does the majority of the ordering for the site and can turn his hand most things to do with electrics.

Outside of work he enjoys walking his German Shepherd and has a number of weekend projects around the house on the go.

Bradley Mitchell

Bradley Mitchell

Bradley joined us in 2019 to start an apprenticeship in plumbing and heating. He goes to college on day release once a week to do his college work.

Ryan Turton

Ryan joined us in 2018 as a part qualified joiner. He has an NVQ 2 in joinery and works with Luke on all parts of the house including erecting the roof structures, putting staircases in, first fix joinery, second fix joinery including kitchens.

Reece Statham

Reece is the newest and youngest member of the team having joined us the day after his 16th birthday in August 2021. He is a member of the brick laying cartel and starts his apprenticeship in October.

When Reece isn’t working he likes to spend time on his PlayStation in particular Fifa.

Joe Elliott

Joe is currently studying construction management at university. He is working 4 days per week with us and 1 day a week at university.

Outside of work Joe often visits London to see his partner or goes to York to see family.
